I just found out I’m dating a guy who works at Starbucks. As it turns out, we’ve been dating for months because, it’s true, I see more of him than anyone else I’m seeing. It’s amazing how much dating I’ve been doing since I decided to stop dating which is exactly what I decided to do after I kissed BadKisser who was such a bad kisser I had to kiss him for three hours one morning. What a mistake. I’ll never do that again.
So warning girls: watch out for the Canadian who can’t dance. He’s a really bad kisser.
Anyway, back to my man from Starbucks. His name is BlueMonday. I noticed him a while back because I see him most every morning. But I didn’t really see him until I saw him last week. He remembered my order. Actually, he almost got it right, then apologized for not getting it exactly right. That’s when I knew we had something. I forgave him and paid with a credit card so he would know my name. Of course, that also told him I didn’t have five bucks on me.
BlueMonday is a hunk. I’m beginning to think Sarasota is HunkTown, USA. I’ve never met so many wonderful talented, handsome, single men in my life and I’ve lived in Los Angeles and Des Moines and London.
So, today, BlueMonday remembered my order. Well, he forgot the “extra hot” part of my order. Maybe he did it on purpose. Anyway, we exchanged knowing glances and furtive smiles.
I took my coffee and sat in the place where I get a tremendous amount of work done most mornings and today was no different in that way, but it was very different in another way. I must have made five million for one client before the coffee was cold. The money was irrelevant (it was a simple calculation) because BlueMonday was making his first real move (an act of courage). He walked over and told me I reminded him of his friend, Samantha, from Wyoming.
I introduced myself and shook his hand. Nice hands, nice eyes, nice…well, you get the picture. He walked away and left me wondering about Samantha from Wyoming among other things.
He works at Starbucks so I suspect he’s a songwriter which means he’s got no money but a lot of soul, and he’s truthful. Frankly, I value the truth more than the money. It’s harder to come by.
And the truth is, I’m dating a guy named BlueMonday who works at Starbucks and I like it…extra hot.
