I was at Mattison’s the other night, drinking what I like to call a “gg Martini,” when I thought it might be a good idea to visit Nashville.

Off I went.

I met my best friend, g-Too, in the lobby at Leow’s because (according to her voicemail) the hotel was “crawling with gorgeous men.” I didn’t see the men but I did see hundreds of middle-aged women in glittering costumes.

g-Too and I headed to Houston’s for spinach dip. The women in costumes were there. Then it was time to get serious so we headed to The Mall at Green Hills where I was sucked into the Coach store like matter into a black hole.

That’s where we met. The Hat. The Hat and I fell for each other on the spot. Forceful relationships scare the hell out of me so I ran out of the store, flailing, only to get sucked back in with punishing force. I was face to face with the Hat. I had to have him.

Once on my head, my whole world changed. Soon I was having lunch with a famous recording artist, dinner with his wife, and planning my return trip because I’d drummed up so much business in the Nashville community. It was astounding.

Sunday came too soon and gToo departed first.

There I was, alone in an airport bar, drinking a “gg Martini” dreaming of the day I won’t have to explain the ingredients, when a really tan (really famous) actor sat down right next to me – on purpose! It had to be the Hat.

He took my business card, offered to send work my way and explained the women in wild costumes. The whole exchange was incredibly satisfying because those ladies were driving me nuts.

The Tan Actor wanted to drink what I was drinking so I had to explain: a gg Martini is a Cape Cod served chilled up with a lime in a martini glass. Soon everyone at the bar was drinking them.

It had to be the Hat.
