I Confess

12/2007

Typically, the words “I confess” precede some awful, unwanted information. Not here. Not today. Not this time. My full and given name is gg ~ single sarasota girl. I love it. But, in all honesty, it’s misleading. I’ve been married for months.

Over a year ago, I married the loveliest man on earth at City Hall in San Francisco. It was a sweet, private affair on a sunny summer day – the perfect reflection of our life together.

I met him while traveling with Backroads Travel Company. If I believed in love at first sight, we were it. If I believed in “The One”, I found him on a trailhead in the Tetons. Ours is a simple love. There has been no struggle. No drama. No need or desire to test and taunt. Our daily rituals confirm a deep and abiding love. We simply cannot imagine life without the other.

Well, okay, there was a teeny tiny bit of torture. I have to admit, Mr. Subaru gave him a good run for his money. Wow. But enough of that. It’s all in the past.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again – I was born under a lucky star. Now I’m gg ~ single sarasota girl (married). My man modifies my name to the flattering, gg ~ smokin’ sarasota girl.

He requested I not write about him. His request was denied. He is the richest man I know. He is the handsomest man I know. He is my best friend. Our life is full and adventuresome. Our world is safe. Our future – bright.

I hope you wish me all the best. I’ve waited a long time for this and so has he.

So, for all the married girls out there who envied my single status year after year, maybe you never knew…I envied yours. I confess.
